The Final Stages

The all-new Porsche Taycan, the first all-electric car from Porsche, is currently undergoing final testing in preparation for full production. This final stage, commonly known as extreme-weather testing, is an exciting development in the production cycle for this all-new Porsche. Extreme-weather testing is one of the most important tests a pre-production car can undergo, as it replicates real-world situations in both hot and cold climates. After this long journey though concepts, new innovative technology, and even the construction of an entirely new production facility, the Porsche Taycan is closer now than ever to full production.

AWD-Equipped Porsche Models

• Porsche 911 - Carrera (4, 4S, 4 GTS), Targa (4, 4S, 4 GTS), Turbo.
• Porsche Panamera - 4, 4S, GTS, Turbo.
• Porsche Macan - All Macan models.
• Porsche Cayenne - All Cayenne models.

Although it was standard equipment up until the late 1990's, the air-cooled Porsche engine has since been phased out, replaced with more powerful and efficient water-cooled engines in all of their vehicles. That said, the air-cooled engine will be forever be associated with the Porsche brand, and in particular the Porsche 911. The air-cooled engine was introduced to the public with the Porsche 356, the predecessor to the Porsche 911. With wins at The 24 Hours of Le Mans and impressive reliability, the Porsche air-cooled platform certainly proved its worth, but its years were numbered.
